THE DAIRY, RAVENSBOURNE
BUILDER – VALDAL
ARCHITECT – MARC & CO
PHOTOGRAPHER – JACK GIBSON
Perched high within picturesque Ravensbourne, our stonework was showcased at “The Dairy”.
Within the architectural, purpose built venue, our team of stonemasons created an artisan and unique stone masterpiece which reflected the beautiful panoramic landscapes.
Challenges of the project include:
1. Stone
2. Scale
3. Fireplace
Stone - The stone was thick, heavy, irregular and difficult to install. Our masons worked tirelessly to shape each stone to create an organic natural finish. We envisioned the stonework to appear historical and timeless, the masons executed the brief perfectly. The stone was laid dry, in a freeform design.
Scale - With over 240m2 of stone installed, continuity with style and quality was critical. Each stage of the project we had at least 5 stonemasons, so high level communication and coordination of our team was required for a seamless finish.
Fireplace - In conjunction with the builder we customised the suspended fireplace with difficult design details. We installed the stone overhead to fully wrap the fireplace and accentuate the rugged stone and structure against the thoughtful bespoke finishes. There was also a hidden door installed for function.
Throughout the project, our team of stonemasons executed each area with precision and world class craftsmanship ensuring a timeless finish.
